About us

About us and our training programmes

CENI (Community Evaluation Northern Ireland) is a unique not-for-profit support organisation providing a range of specialist support services in monitoring and evaluation to the voluntary and community and statutory sectors. Located within and committed to the values of the voluntary and community sector, CENI aims to help organisations improve their performance and deliver better services.

Services provided by CENI include external evaluations of projects and programmes to assess performance and measure success; training and support to build evaluation skills and organisational effectiveness; information and advice to promote awareness and understanding of evaluation and research and development to inform best practice and influence policy.

CENI offers a range of highly specialist training services including:
- One day or short introductory courses to develop knowledge and awareness of evaluation concepts and processes. Current modules include ‘Introducing Self-Evaluation’, ‘Getting the Most from External Evaluation’ and ‘Introducing Outcomes’.
- Customised training courses which are tailored to the needs of projects or organisations (for example, those working within a particular field or specialism).
- Indepth training and support packages which combine training sessions with one-to-one or small group support. These packages assist participants to plan, design and implement self-evaluation into their own working practice.

CENI is an approved provider of Endorsed and Development Awards through the Institute of Leadership and Management, a leading professional and awarding body in the UK.
